New Blog

I just started a new blog for my art (rowanpatmanart.blogspot.com.au), hopefully I will keep it up to date with all the sketches and final copies I do now and in the future. I've already started with the first piece of my "out of comfort zone project" and it can be found on my new blog. I think next I'm going to start working on scenery or animals next, either way I need to get better at both... I need to get better at drawing everything actually. I really should have more sketches done by now but unfortunately I'm quite easily distracted by games. Hopefully I'll have more up withing the week.

Holidays At Last

Okay so it's been a while since my last post and there will probably be big gaps between posts in the future. On a more positive note, the holidays have finally come... well technically they started a week a go. I haven't done much so far, besides getting a new laptop, and I've decided to spend the coming weekend enhancing my artistic skills. By this I mean everything out of my comfort zone including architecture, environments, animals, vehicles, male figures, and clothing materials. I also need to work on practicing programming and beginning my first game project.

First thing's first, I NEED to work on my art if I'm ever going to become a professional illustrator before doing the programming stuff. But before all that I have to continue moving files over to my new laptop. Hopefully when I do start my art I'll remember to create a new blog specifically for my art so that you can see what I do and how I'm improving. To be honest I really need to start putting more of my work online, I already have a DeviantArt page but it would be beneficial to post my work on other sites as well, so that's something else I will start on these holidays.

Because of the massive one month gap between this post and the last I'll try to post more over these holidays, probably to do with the art I will work on. Speaking of art, I want to properly start on an online comic idea I have. It's something I've been thinking about for a long time now and these holidays provide the perfect opportunity to start it. Also I got some advice from my greatest inspiration, Stjepan Sejic, about getting my name out there through creating a (hopefully successful) online comic, so that's what I'm going to do... later. I would also love to get more advice from professional artists, actually all advice, comments and critiques from those who read my blog would be cool too, especially when I start posting art.
